Jason has worked with MSK Engineering and Design since 1998 and earned his professional engineering license in 2008. He specializes in site and infrastructure design and has assisted clients with planning, permitting, bidding and construction oversight in New York and Vermont. His projects have included designs, permits and construction administration of residential subdivisions, commercial and industrial facilities and municipal sewer and water projects.
His recent projects include expanding the Town of Bennington water system to provide drinking water to areas affected by PFOA contamination. He also has been responsible for the design and construction oversight of critical municipal infrastructure damaged during Tropical Storm Irene, the design of a new pressure zone for a municipal water supply system, and the design and permitting of a 28,000-yard composting facility. Among the grants that Jason has been successful in obtaining was a $160,000 grant from the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority for an innovative and alternative 8,000 gallon per day decentralized wastewater system.
In addition to MSK Engineering, Jason is a partner with Goldstone Architecture. Currently a resident of White Creek, NY, he is a past member of the Cambridge (NY) Community Partnership and currently serves on the Bennington County Industrial Corporation, both of which focus on sustainable communities and revitalization efforts. Jason is the chairman of the Bennington County Regional Economic Development board.
Jason has also worked as an adjunct professor at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (his alma mater) where he taught Engineering Graphics for Civil Engineers and co-taught Applied Hydraulics and Hydrology. In a prior life he attended Skidmore College where he studied mathematics, history, music and theater.
Eamon has been a member of the MSK Engineering and Design team for 12 years. He has worked closely with other members of the MSK team on several residential subdivisions and the design of commercial and industrial facilities and municipal projects.
He has assisted with the existing conditions boundary work for multiple large-scale water line projects for the Town of Bennington and has extensive experience with generating flood elevation certificates. Eamon finished his degree from Hudson Valley Community College in Civil Engineering and Technology in 2010 with honors and received his surveyor’s license from the State of Vermont in 2016.
Abby joined MSK in January of 2016 as an Administrative Assistant after a decade working in law firms specializing in residential and commercial property transactions. In the fall of 2017, Abby moved into her current role as Project Manager for the company, assisting in planning, scheduling and coordination of staff, clients and contractors. In addition to her role in project management, Abby has taken the lead on completing project permitting activities on both the local and state level. Abby’s attention to detail and strong communication skills have proven her to be an effective link between design, regulatory and construction teams.
Abby graduated with a BA from Hobart and William Smith Colleges in Geneva, New York. Outside of the office, Abby stays busy as the mother of two (awesome) sons. She is also a Justice of the Peace and serves on the Board of Civil Authority for the Town of Shaftsbury.
Jim has over 30 years of experience in the construction and engineering business. His career has included various projects from interstate highway design and construction, material specifications and testing, building siting and design, and construction estimating, negotiating and contracting.
With MSK, Jim has gained a tremendous amount of experience with local zoning, planning and building permitting as well as all aspects of state permits including Act 250, the State Agency of Natural Resources, Efficiency Vermont Energy Conservation Programs and the Department of Public Safety. In 2015 Jim sold MSK to his business partner Jason Dolmetsch. After the transfer Jim has grown more involved in branching into High Performance Building Construction Design/Practices and Energy Efficient Retrofits in commercial, residential and industrial facilities. He received Building Performance Institute (BPI) certification in 2014 in Building Analyst and Envelope Professional, received certification from efficiency Vermont for Energy work, and was awarded Commercial New Construction Partner of the Year in 2017. Jim has an AS in Civil Engineering Technology, BS in Civil Engineering and is a Licensed Professional Engineer.
Nick has nine years of experience in providing engineering services for public and private developments. Prior to joining MSK in 2017, Nick worked as a project inspector for a municipality in southeast Alaska and as a design engineer for a private engineering firm in North Dakota. Since obtaining his Professional Engineer license in 2013, he has worked on a wide variety of projects, including Municipal infrastructure improvements, land development, permitting and contract administration.
Nick is committed to providing the highest level of service to the clients and communities served by MSK.
Ron has over three decades of experience in planning, resourcing and directing complex projects and operations with the Vermont Agency of Transportation (VTrans) and the United States Coast Guard. In his two decades with VTrans, Ron supervised and managed the construction of several multi-million-dollar highway, bridge and railroad projects. Additionally, Ron possesses experience with managing construction in sensitive wetland areas. Ron joined MSK in September of 2017 to assist in overseeing the construction of approximately ten miles of water mains to areas affected by PFOA contamination in the northwest portion of the Town of Bennington.
Outside of work Ron enjoys traveling to places he has never been. He also likes working with wood in his workshop making furniture and toys.
Nicholas joined MSK in the spring of 2016. As a Staff Engineer at our firm, Nicholas has administered construction of institutional site development projects, as well as municipal improvement projects. He is currently managing a staff of four Field Inspectors for a major water system expansion project in the Town of Bennington.
Nicholas is also a construction manager and EIT who works with engineers, inspectors, and contractors to execute projects in Bennington County. After his first career opportunity serving as a Construction Manager for the Naval Facilities Engineering Command in Jacksonville, FL, Nicholas embraced the post-design aspect of engineering. Connecting with all contributors to a project, including engineers, surveyors, town officials, as well as construction crews has proved to be insightful and fulfilling on his journey to practicing the Civil Engineering profession. Nicholas graduated with a BS in Civil Engineering from New Mexico State University.
Nicholas enjoys mountain biking the southern Vermont region and working with his wife at their horse boarding and training facility in Pownal.
Andrew joined MSK in the Fall of 2018 as a Staff Engineer. Andrew has previously worked on the north shore of Massachusetts and has experience with soil testing and site design. As a Staff Engineer Andrew is part of the design team at MSK working to complete project plan sets and permit applications. In his free time Andrew enjoys being outside and playing soccer.
Tom has 30 years of drafting experience and has spent the last five years of his career at MSK. He has applied his technical knowledge and skills to several major municipal, community and commercial projects, including assisting in the production of plans for an extensive expansion of the Town of Bennington Water System to service the southern end of Bennington and Southern Vermont College and the PFOA Remediation Municipal Waterline Extension project.
When he’s not in the MSK offices, Tom likes to spend his time making music with his family and friends, and correcting other people’s grammar.
Liam joined MSK in the Summer of 2017 as Engineer Tech II. Liam has worked on state, federal and municipal permits, GIS site analyses and other projects. He currently serves as an inspector on a remedial water main expansion in Bennington, and on developing GIS models of the Bennington water system and a concurrent survey for lead pipe. He received a BA in Environmental Science and Public Action from Bennington College in 2018.
Outside of work, Liam is an avid reader, hiker, artist and cook. He is an active member of the Youth Programs Advisory Committee at Rowe Camp & Conference Center, where he recently completed a term as Trustee and Clerk, and he works with a Portland, Oregon-based group of friends on developing a lodge system for collaboratively paying down student loans.
Sarah Crawford is our Office Manager and joined our team in 2017. She manages all financial matters such as client billing, accounts receivables, accounts payables, payroll and banking. Sarah partners with CEOs, executives and Engineers, to oversee daily operations and to support ongoing professional development, training workshops and seminars. After spending nearly two decades working in Office Management, the past decade succeeding as a Payroll Specialist and Assistant to the Permits Engineer with the Massachusetts Department of Transportation, Sarah truly understands the flexibility and communication needed to interact with employees at every level and in every department. In addition to her extensive business skills, Sarah is a professional photographer for organizations, businesses and events. Sarah holds an ABA in Business Management and Communications from the Community College of Vermont.
